Marie Antoinette Style & Fleur de Lee

BRIMFIELD ANTIQUE MARKET

COME TO THE FAIRE
Brimfield Market is world famous. Recently made popular by the TV Show Flea Market Flip. People from many lands visit this amazing buyers paradise. Fleur de Lee journeyed into this crazy space & sold my wares to young & old. Glamping along with selling. NOT SURE if this girl will be up for it again  but it was an experience I won't forget.

California Dreaming

Sometimes in life you are very aware that you are being given a gift from above. For this Brooklyn Born Girl my journey to Universal Studios Costume Department was just that. Meeting Designers & chatting with creative souls that are knee deep in the costume world was amazing. They LOVED Fleur de Lee Jewelry and I have a place in their showcase for future collaborations. These are pics of some of the beautiful costumes that you might recognize. Funny Girl, Snow White & the Huntsman, Indiana Jones.

Sometimes in Life you find Beautiful things to make you smile and realize the world is not the enormous........ And that Creative People are sometimes...... amazing lovely people that lift you and inspire you...One such experience happened to me....
My Letter below and then response from a lovely Designer        Check out her work on http://www.lenadress.com/

Hi Leanora,
I'm so happy you love that skirt! My gosh, that fabric brings back such memories! It is one of my all time favorite ones! That skirt is likely...I'd say 12 year old. It has been a long time since I had that beautiful fabric to work with...
Thank you for all your kind words...and right back at you...your work is so lovely and unique. How fun it must be to hunt for those treasures in Europe and bring them home to give them a new life! I love the vision you have, you too keep up the good work putting beautiful things out in the world to share!
Thank you again, and I hope you will wear your skirt in health and happiness!
Best,
Lena

Hi Lena,
I wanted to write to tell you and tell you how thrilled I am to own one of your creations.
I don't know how but one of your beautiful skirts ended up in Housing Works NYC. I love to shop there because I can purchase quality clothing at a very affordable price and I also know that my dollars are supporting a great need. Aids and Homeless...
I also wanted to read a bit about the designer who's lovely garment I purchased. And so I found your website and watched your video.  I was so taken by your journey and now I love my treasure even more.
Fair Trade is very important to me also...And so I will wear your design with pride....
I too am a artist with a thrust to bring beauty into the world...my shop is thru ETSY https://www.etsy.com/shop/FleurdeleeJewelry
I am Fleur de Lee (Vintage made New -Jewelry)....I purchase old treasures in Europe and thru a mold make an exact replica. My vision is to bring a more romantic time to lovely ladies of the present
Thank you for your time Lena...I wish you many blessings as you create and bring beauty to a much needed world.

All my best,
Leanora Ortiz

Honoring Ballerinas everywhere
& One of the most famous
Anna
Anna Pavlovna (Matveyevna) Pavlova was born on February 12, 1881 in Ligovo, St. Petersburg, Russia to unwed parents.  Her passion for ballet started after viewing a Sleeping Beauty Ballet. Her training began at age nine. At ten she was accepted at the Imperial Ballet School. Physically she was challenged by weak ankles and long skinny legs. Her tenacity for practice brought her taunts from fellow classmates who dubbed her  "The little savage." She worked hard at overcoming these obstacles.
Over her early years she studied under some of the best classical ballet teachers.  She made her official début at the Mariinsky Theatre in Pavel Gerdt's Les Dryades prétendues (The False Dryads). Her performance drew praise from the the best critics of her time. Pavlova is perhaps most renowned for creating the role of The Dying Swan. By the early 20th century she had founded her own company and performed throughout the world, with a repertory consisting primarily of a shortened version of famous works.m of Petipa's works, and specially choreographed pieces for herself.
