Friends around the world on ETSY

Etsy has been a treasure to me. YES I am able to sell my Reproduction Jewelry and that is wonderful BUT an added bonus is that I have made friends around the world.
Monika a lovely girl from Slovakia found a pair of earrings that she loved and so she placed a order BUT then she wanted me to make a crown for her to wear on her special day..Her WEDDING DAY! I was so honored & of course I said yes. To think I could help a soon to be bride so many miles away. We exchanged conversations thru ETSY and I began the creative process. SHE WAS PLEASED! I was too....In the end through our sharing I made more then a pair of earrings and a crown BUT we became friends...This treasure so rich that it is worth more then diamonds or gold....Thank you Monika for allowing me into your special day!

To my dismay I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for...And so when I returned home to my faithful sewing machine I decided to make one Here is my first attempt to create what I had in mind!

Honoring The Irish Princess DYMPHNA

She was an Irish princess whose father (apparently unhinged by grief over the death of his wife-her mother- whom Dymphna apparently bore a striking resemblance to) was told by his advisors to marry.

She rejected his advances, fleeing Ireland along with her confessor, St.Gerebran, to what is now Belgium. Her demented father pursued her there, and after Gerebran tried to dissuade him from his unnatural desire for his daughter, summarily beheaded the priest. Dymphna refused his advances and was likewise dealt with.

The site of her martyrdom is Gheel, Belgium which is a place of pilgrimage from all suffering from mental or emotional disorders and her feast day is May 15.
